"Leadership is the capacity to
translate vision into reality."
Warren G. Bennis
The Ohio Society of CPAs continues to be one of the countrys top providers of quality continuing professional education programs. In fact, its the number one reason CPAs choose to belong to The Ohio Society. Society programs are emulated at the national level and this program is no exception. Designed to offer members a unique CPA leadership training program, The Center for Leadership was developed to meet the specific needs of CPAs who are leaders today, or will be the leaders of tomorrow, and to help you translate your vision into reality.

Leadership Role Models
Lee Beall, CPAA past president of The Ohio Society, Lee has never hesitated to stand up for what he believes is right and he has a clear view of how the CPAs traits presented in the vision should translate to virtually all organizations. Lees leadership in presiding over implementation of the Societys dramatic restructuring demonstrates his ability to deal with controversial topics and keep everyone focused on the big picture. His low-key presentation style allows his audience to assimilate the message and understand how it applies to what they're doing and their responsibilities as a leader.
Jerry Esselstein, CPAA former president of The Ohio Society who currently serves on the AICPA Board of Directors and chairs the AICPAs Finance Committee, Jerry is viewed by many as one of the AICPAs rising stars. Jerry has distinguished himself as a leader who is articulate and doesnt avoid tough issues. His personable and often humorous presentation style has made him a favorite in the Societys CPE program, where he routinely receives near-perfect participant evaluations.
Fred Miller, CPAA former president of The Ohio Society, Fred is a leader who never hesitates to be out in front on issues affecting the CPA profession or The Ohio Society. His no-nonsense approach to leadership and his engaging style make Fred an ideal candidate to discuss the foundation on which the profession was built and why it's critical that CPAs share their expertise as volunteer leaders.
Clarke Price, CAEClarke, The Ohio Societys president and CEO, is a popular spokesperson for the Society who routinely receives high marks for every presentation. When the editors of Accounting Today selected him as one of the 100 most influential people in the accountancy profession, they described him as "an outspoken leader..." and this description has characterized all of his leadership responsibilities across a variety of organizations. Clarke understands the importance of leaders who are willing to be out in front on tough issues.
Lee Wunschel, CPAAs the 1998-99 chair of The Ohio Society, Lee has distinguished himself as an objective leader who doesnt avoid tough issues throughout his chairmanship of the Structure & Governance Task Forces deliberations and subsequent presentations to the membership. Lee is known for winning over those who may not see the vision by focusing on the basics and building a logical platform for whatever issue hes presenting. His friendly demeanor and understanding approach makes him a natural leader.
